Peptides have attracted researchers recently due to their potential anticancer applications, but we just found limited source of systematically constructed anticancer peptides database. Anticancer peptide database (APD) is a database of anticancer peptides (ACPs), where information is compiled from research publications, patents and other databases. Each ACP was experimentally validated and manually typed into APD. To date APD holds 2886 ACPs entries. Every entry provides exhaustive information about the peptide, such as PubMed ID, peptide name, origin, chirality, sequence, peptide’s nature, anticancer activity, N-terminal modifications as well as C-terminal modifications, etc. ADP also maintains information about testing assay and cancer type as well as cancer cell lines used for ACP evaluation. All the peptides inclusive are natural peptides.
